Unknown
- Marriage: William Sharp, Jr. in 1725
General Notes:
Harman Clark emailed me with a lead or clue to William's first wife's name. (See email dated July 26, 1998). It reads: Hello again Bea I have found something that indicates that the first wife of William Sharp MAY have been Lydia Robins (Robinds), a daughter of Daniel and Hope (Potter) Robins. I am descended from Daniel & Hope, through their daughter Hope, who married John Moore of Woodbridge.
...and the email goes on. An interesting read. More later. Harman
Also read further emails from Harman Clark dated July 26.
Robert G. Moore notes read ...there is some evidence that William Sharp's first marriage was to Lydia Robins daughter of Daniel Robin/Robinds and Hope Potter (N.J. Will of Daniel Robins dated 22 June 1714 and proven 18 August 1714. The will names among his children "Lydia wife of Wm Therp of Woodbridge").
On July 27, 1998, Harman Clark writes:
Bob -- I was just looking over the Holder file you sent to me and am reminded that Joseph B. Sutton's mother was Mary Adams, daughter of Thomas Adams and Rebecca Potter. The Lydia Robins suggested by Lee as the first wife of William Sharp, Jr., was the daughter of Daniel Robins and Hope Potter (Rebecca's sister). That would make Lydia Robins the first cousin of Mary Adams. Of course that doesn't prove anything, as most of these early Woodbridge, NJ people were related to each other , but it is curious. Harman
